The time that the subconscious mind works best or active the most in this situation links to a question. Which is: WHEN do we “communicate” with the subconscious mind more?

During sleep,

As mentioned before, the subconscious mind is always active 24/7, but there are certain times that it may give us insight, intuition, and global thinking. When you are asleep and dreaming, that’s when you get dreams and that’s the language of the subconscious. So if you are able to decode your dreams, they would reveal a lot about your life right now.

What about in waking state?

In the waking state, consciousness is activated, it is continuously swinging by identifying with things from surroundings and things like thoughts and emotions, doing the logical thinking mission. Subconscious gets stronger reciprocal.

The subconscious mind is most active when your conscious is not fully conscious!

To put it simply, the subconscious mind is active when you are not on alert mode.

First, let’s find out more about the 5 stages of brain waves to see how it relates. They are: Beta, Alpha, Delta, Theta and Gamma.

In which, the alpha state is characterized by a brain wave frequency of 8 to 13cps. You naturally go into the alpha state many times each day, but usually only fleetingly. Occasionally you may hover in this state. You would recognize it as daydreaming.

The theta state (4 to 7 cps) is similar to the alpha state but deeper and characterized by sudden intuitive insights. That is the epitome of global thinking.

Now the answer to our question: When we gain insight during a peaceful activity we go into phases of relaxation. Both of the phases are where we connect to the subconscious mind.

These times, are ideal when you wake up from sleep, you’re doing something creative, relaxing, not particularly doing some work that demands your concentration.

It comes that the subconscious mind is most active and receptive just before falling asleep and just upon waking up, while one is still in the sleepy or drowsy state. Before going to sleep people think about their goals using visualization. They sleep but the subconscious mind keeps on thinking for solutions. Additionally, senses impressions inputs,.. also shrink your consciousness, making it small and expanding your subconscious accordingly.

On the other hand, it also works best when you are experiencing cognitive dissonance and confusion, or multitasking, feeling distracted and a logical mind does not work. Specifically, when we are faced with danger or we get anxiety, the job of the subconscious is to function to make fast decisions so that energy is conserved. It strives to get you what you want.

Ways to make your subconscious mind work more effectively?

Up to now, you have known the subconscious mind is most active at the time when you’re sleepy and drowsy. Hence, the first tip is during these states, one must fill the subconscious mind with positive thoughts while picturing successful outcomes. The thoughts should always be said in the present tense (never in the future tense) with complete belief and absolute unquestioning faith in what is being fed. This is also called Autosuggestion.

The other way to go to this state of mind is by practicing meditation. This is the state when the subconscious is highly receptive to your affirmations. As well this is also the reason why people tend to visualize their goals during meditation.

But at normal times, doing creative things like writing poetry, drawing, just relaxing by not thinking about anything, the few minutes after you wake up are times that your subconscious works so efficiently.
